Unfortunately, one's own home is not a safe place for many women: they experience violence in a physical, emotional, sexual, social and economic form. Often, the various forms of violence merge and are experienced by the women involved as a complex threatening, hurtful and humiliating overall situation.
The women's shelter provides an anonymous haven for affected or threatened women and their children, a space where they are welcome at all hours of the day and night, and find protection and support.
